NI PXI Filler Panel
Designed for 6 and 4 slot chassis, the PXI Filler Panel (Part Numbers: 778933-01, 778679-01, 778646-01, and 778700-01) is used to cover unoccupied PXI Chassis slots. This simple kit helps restrict the ingression of moisture, oil, dirt, and other contaminants from entering unoccupied PXI slots. The NI PXI Filler Panel can also enhance the cooling performance of the chassis. These panels come with a couple of captive mounting screws (one on either end). You can use a simple screwdriver for the installation of a filler panel for each empty or unused slot.
Part number 778700-01 is a PXI EMC Filler Panel Kit with a quantity of 6. The EMC Filler Panel Kit is different from the others by including additional gaskets that aid in limiting EMC emissions from the chassis.
NI PXI EMC filler panels are designed with the following qualities:
> Increase the amount of shielding across the front of the chassis, especially if all of the installed panels are IEEE 1101.10 compliant EMC panels.
> IEEE Specification 1101.10 must be followed.
> Due to the use of an EMC gasket, it may be installed in every slot of the PXI chassis with minimum internal interference build-up.
Installation of the NI PXI EMC Filler Panels can be condensed into two simple steps. First, make sure that the captive screw covers are removed. Second, secure the filler panels to the chassis with captive mounting screws, making sure that the EMC gasket is on the right side.
There are several variations of PXI Filler Panels available: part number 778933-01 is designed for 4- and 6-Slot Chassis, part number 778679-01 contains 3 Double- and 3-Single-Slot Panels, and part number 778646-01 covers 17 slots. The PXI Filler Panel can play an important role in the enhancement of device safety and operators’ safety in training environments. These panels should be installed with the chassis in the "OFF" state.
