National Instruments USB-1359 Communication Adapter

The USB-1359 is a Communication Adapter that delivers USB connectivity for SCXI switch modules. The NI USB-1359 is designed by National Instruments. The National Instruments USB-1359 can also be ordered under part number 776576-591. This Communication Adapter directly links to modules with 10-pin back connectors via the use of a cable. The USB-1359 is compatible with two cables, the 1 m HV8-BAN4 cable and the 2 m HV8-BAN4 cable.

The USB-1359 Communication Adapter is a plug-and-play connectivity option for SCXI Chassis. There are not any complex installations of different software required to use the USB-1359. The device auto installs the required drivers when it is plugged in. This feature is very important and facilitates the users as it is available ready-to-use, when required.

The USB-1359 Communication Adapter can be purchased in a kit. The NI 1359 kit includes a USB cable and the Adapter. The NI 1358 kit comprises the USB-1359, an 8-slot HVAB backplane adapter, SCXI-1359, two 8-pin HVAB plugs, and a USB cable. Lastly, the NI 1357 kit includes the USB-1359, an 8-pin HVAB plug, a USB cable, and the SCXI-1359.

The driver software required by the USB-1359 is NI-SWITCH and NI-DAQmx. NI-SWITCH is an IVI-compliant driver software, which provides full functionality for all switch modules. NI-DAQmx driver software is a complete measurement services software used for configuring and controlling hardware.

USB-1359 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the communication adapter will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
