National Instruments 779801-01 C Series Digital Module
Part number 779801-01 from National Instruments describes the NI-9375 C Series Digital Module. This hybrid module features a total of 32 digital channels which are divided evenly into 16 input channels and 16 output channels. Like many parts in the C Series, the 779801-01 is compatible with both CompactRIO and CompactDAQ systems. Depending on what external power source is used, the digital output can handle signals that range between 6 and 30 volts.
Different part numbers distinguish the variations of the 779801-01. This versatile C Series Digital Module is available with either (push-in) spring terminal (785192-01) or DSUB (781030-01) connectors, making it an excellent choice for a variety of applications. Additionally, a version is available with DSUB connectors that is conformal coated (781030-02).
The digital input channels of the 779801-01 feature a voltage range that spans from 0 VDC to 30 VDC, and can handle logic levels of up to 24 volts. When the module is in the OFF state, the input voltage should be ≤ 5 V. However, when in the ON state, the input voltage should be ≥10 V. When it comes to the digital output of the 779801-01, it operates as a sourcing type- when powering on, the channels are off.
The 779801-01 is a beneficial asset for any test system. It features 450 mW of power consumption when in active mode, and consumes only 25 μW when in sleep mode. With thermal dissipation, the module reaches a maximum of 1.5 W when in active mode and a maximum of 0.6 W when in sleep mode. These thermal dissipation levels apply when the device is operating at 70 °C (158 °F).
