The NI 780501-01 features Ethernet connectivity and includes 2 digital PFI lines. This Single Module Carrier Device is designed to work with C Series modules such as RTDs, microphones, accelerometers, thermocouples, current transducers, and strain gages.
There are over 50 C Series modules available, each offering integrated signal conditioning and direct sensor connections for a wide range of measurements including strain, current, temperature, voltage, and acceleration. The Wireless/Ethernet Carrier allows for interchangeable use of different modules, making it versatile for control and measurement applications across various platforms like CompactRIO and CompactDAQ. The NI ENET-9163 and C Series modules are part of the ENET-9xxx series of devices. The network IP configuration options for the ENET-9163 include DHCP, Link-Local, DHCP + Link-Local, and Static settings.
It supports communication rates of 10/100 Mbps, with auto-negotiation capability. The maximum cabling distance per segment is 100 meters (about 328 feet). The 780501-01 includes an advanced analog input timing controller. Synchronization and timing signals are available through the PFI lines. Analog input measurements are conducted by inserting a compatible C Series analog input I/O module into the carrier. The module automatically configures settings such as channel configuration, number of channels, gain, and sample rate. The NI 780501-01 is designed for continuous, single-point, and infinite input applications. National Instruments has declared obsolete status for the 780501-01, however, it is still available for purchase on the Apex Waves Website.
