Adhering to CiA-DS 301 standards, the NI-9881 facilitates the transmission and reception of process data objects (PDOs) and service data objects (SDOs). Notably, the device is exclusively compatible with CompactRIO systems. Part 781673-01 offers software-selectable bus termination for Hi-Speed CAN transceivers. Users can activate 120 Ω termination resistors between CAN_L and CAN_H using an API call. To connect to a CAN bus, it includes one 9-pin D-Sub male connector. The port of the NI 9881 contains two common pins, which are internally linked to the isolated reference of the module, serving as the reference ground for both CAN_L and CAN_H. This device supports a wide range of voltage inputs for maximum flexibility and compatibility. With a port-to-COM voltage spanning from -27 V DC to +40 V DC within Measurement Category I, it ensures safety and reliability in various environments.
