National Instruments 783824-01 C Series Dynamic Signal Acquisition Module
The part number 783824-01 from National Instruments is the identifying part number for the NI-9230 C Series Dynamic Signal Acquisition Module. This module is compatible with both NI CompactDAQ and NI CompactRIO systems and its primary use is for capturing data from integrated electronic piezoelectric and non IEPE sensors, used in vibration analysis, acoustic testing, and structural health monitoring.
The 783824-01 features high-resolution 24-bit analog to digital converters (ADCs) on each channel to help convert analog signals to digital for applying signal processing techniques on digital signals. The sampling rate at the input channels of this module is 12.8-kilo samples per second when all the channels are being operated simultaneously. The equal sampling rate allows all the signals to be synchronized with each other and helps with the clock synchronization processes.
To connect sensors and modules to this device, the 783824-01 Dynamic Signal Acquisition Module features a BNC connector as well as screw terminals for connecting compatible sensors and setups. The user-programmable inputs can perform AC or DC coupling and IEPE signal conditioning through the compatible software. The IEPE conditioning has a signal range of 0 mA to 4 mA allowing this module to handle and process different types of sensor signals. The module is also compatible with the IEEE 1451.4 TEDS Class I sensors.
The module has a channel-to-earth isolation voltage rating of 60 VDC, CAT I for safe operation helping protect the module and the connected systems from electrical interferences and potentially damaging the system. The 783824-01 features digital filters to help filter noise and glitches from the signals when used in high EMI areas or using long wires and signal routes.
This module has a temperature rating of 0 degrees Celsius to 55 degrees Celsius and should be operated in an environment with a humidity level between 15 % to 85 % for optimum performance. This module does not feature and IP protection rating and should be installed in an enclosure to prevent dust and moisture affecting the internal circuitry of the module.
