National Instruments NI-9246 C Series Current Input Module
Featured with 50 kS/s/ch sample rate, the National Instruments NI-9246 (Part number: 783920-01) is a 3-Channel, 24-Bit Current Input Module. This model offers direct ring lug connectivity to 3-phase high-current measurements of 1 and 5 Ampere current transformers (CTs). Moreover, the NI-9246 is optimized for energy, power, and industrial applications. The ±30 A peak input range and safety features incorporated in the module make it a versatile, suitable solution for challenging applications, such as power quality metering, substation merging units, utility pole-mounted smart switches and smart grid reclosers, predictive maintenance, health monitoring, and phasor measurement units (PMUs).
The NI-9246 is offered with Ring Lug Connectors that are suitable for up to 10 AWG cables. This module also offers up to 480 Vrms Channel-to Channel and 300 Vrms Channel-to-Earth CAT III isolation. This module can be considered for industrial applications where AC measurements up to 22 Arms are required. The three analog input channels of the National Instruments NI-9246 Current Input Module support AC coupling. Individual design elements incorporated in this module assist in ensuring an input noise as low as 0.25 mArms. In its default configuration, the NI 9246 is offered with a high voltage backshell and 6 ring lugs.
This Current Input Module comes equipped with a dedicated, Delta-Sigma ADC on each of the three analog input channels. The National Instruments NI-9246 features built-in protection against overcurrent that actuates when the device counters 50 Arms continuously or 100 Arms for 10 seconds and 1250 Arms for 1 cycle.
