National Instruments cRIO-9111 CompactRIO Chassis
National Instruments' cRIO-9111 (part number: 780915-01) is a rugged FPGA chassis made to integrate C Series I/O modules and enable distributed control or monitoring applications. Its primary function is to host and communicate with these modules so that users can quickly and effectively grow their real-time systems. The chassis is equipped with a reconfigurable Virtex-5 LX30 FPGA, which provides a wide range of processing power for high-speed I/O and control applications as well as inline data processing.
With 19,200 flip-flops, 32 DSP48 slices, and an equal number of 6-input LUTs, the FPGA offers a substantial amount of processing capability. It also has 1,152kbits of inbuilt block RAM, which improves its capacity to manage intricate algorithms and data processing jobs. The chassis itself consumes 500 mW for +5 VDC and 2,100 mW for +3.3 VDC, with a maximum power consumption of 2,600 mW when fully loaded. Because of its small weight of about 581 g (20 oz), it can be used in a variety of industrial settings.
With a broad operating temperature range of -40 °C to 70 °C, the cRIO-9111 guarantees dependable operation even in challenging circumstances. It is protected from dust and solid object entry by its IP40 ingress protection grade. Under working conditions, the chassis can take up to 5g of vibration from 10 Hz to 500 Hz and up to 30 g of operating shock with an 11 ms half sine waveform. This is because the chassis is designed to be durable.
The device exhibits durability in demanding applications, as it can withstand 18 shocks at 6 orientations. For industrial automation and control applications, the cRIO-9111 is an indoor-use device with flexibility and scalability. Communication between it and installed I/O modules is smooth because of its interoperability with CompactRIO Controllers. Industries including industrial, aerospace, automotive, and more have applications for the cRIO-9111.
The cRIO-9011 is no longer available from National Instruments, but it will remain available for purchase and repairs with Apex Waves in perpetuity!
