National Instruments sbRIO-9403 C Series Digital Module

Featured with 32 bidirectional digital channels and D-SUB connectivity, the NI sbRIO-9403 (Part Number: 780539-01) is a Digital Module from the National Instruments C Series. This module is designed to support current flow in four directions: sourcing input, sourcing output, sinking input, and sinking output. The NI sbRIO-9403 offers enormous flexibility to the user since it is a configurable interface with various options. The digital I/O lines incorporated in this module are fully compatible with the widely used 5V TTL industrial logic levels and can achieve a maximum update rate of 7 microseconds. Each digital channel has a dedicated DIO pin to which users can connect various kinds of industrial input or output devices.

All 32 digital I/O channels on the sbRIO-9403 are referenced to COM internally. Thus, you can choose and utilize any four common “COM” lines as a reference. The availability of bidirectional digital lines enables you to configure any digital input/output channel for input or output in software. For improved performance with non-monotonic and noisy input signals, each digital input channel operates with a predefined hysteresis. Moreover, each channel includes short-circuit, overvoltage, and overcurrent protection. All the digital I/O channels of this module are shifted to high impedance whenever an overcurrent state is detected. This condition persists for 280 milliseconds approximately, after which the module tries to recover and restore its operations to the latest output state and direction configuration. This cycle goes on until the removal of the overcurrent condition.
