National Instruments sbRIO-9476 C Series Digital Module
The sbRIO-9476 (Part Number: 783951-01) is a non-enclosed, board-only Digital Module from the National Instruments C Series. The front connector of this module is a D-SUB connector type, and each of the 32 Digital Output channels can work with signals ranging in between 6 V and 36 V, as determined by the external power supply. This NI sbRIO-9476 offers a comprehensive range of protective features, including safeguards against short-circuiting and up to 40 V max of overvoltage protection. Excessive flow of current from any DO causes the relevant channel to go into a protective state.
The 32 digital output channels of the sbRIO-9476 are designed to operate as sourcing outputs at a maximum achievable update rate of 40 μs. The module comes equipped with a 37-pin D-SUB connector that provides access to all the digital output channels. The module features current sourcing outputs—thus, the digital output pin of the relevant channel is driven to Vsup when the associated channel is turned on. The NI sbRIO-9476 allows for direct connectivity with a broad range of industrial devices including solenoids, lamps, motors, valves, actuators, etc. These devices, along with others, are widely used in manufacturing and industrial environments.
Each channel included in this C Series Digital Module can provide up to 250 mA of current on a continuous basis, when the supply voltage falls within the range of 6 V DC to 30 V DC. However, you can connect multiple channels in parallel for applications where a higher output current is required. In this case, the maximum of the continuous output current is slightly lowered to 200 mA. The NI sbRIO-9476 module comes with integrated protective circuitry that protects the module from current and voltage surges resulting from short circuits. Excessive flow of current from any DO causes the relevant channel to go into a protective state.
Physically, the sbRIO-9476 Digital Module weighs 1.6 oz (46 g). It has an operating temperature range of -40 to 85 °C and a storage temperature range of -40 to 85 °C.
