In order to safeguard your Compact FieldPoint system, controller, or communication interface from excessive voltage levels, the 777318-301 module has built-in module-to-module isolation. It uses a common ground plane for all the input channels. When this module's channels are directly linked to a 24 VDC source, current-limiting circuitry protects them from harm.

In Toggle, Reset On mode, the output channel starts high and goes low when the terminal count is exceeded. The output channel returns to high when the terminal count is exceeded again or when the user sends a reset command to the related input channel. The terminal count is 4. The real-time operating system of the 777318-301can assign priorities to each control cycle. A crucial control part of an application can run at high priority, while less critical tasks like communication or data storage can run at lower priority. The NI Compact FieldPoint modules feature an internal power distribution bus that offers multiple power connections on the module. 

A field-wired power supply connected to the voltage (V) and common (C) terminals is internally linked to this power distribution bus, providing additional breakout terminals for voltage supply (VSUP) and common (COM). These terminals allow for easy power distribution to field devices needing external power. Additionally, the equipment has built-in signal conditioning for quick and direct sensor connections. This architecture makes it easy to build distributed applications. Users can set up data logging stations to monitor signals such as temperature, pressure, and flow, track the status of valves, and either store the data locally or transmit it via the Ethernet interface.
