National Instruments cFP-AI-112 Analog Input Module for Compact FieldPoint
The National Instruments cFP-AI-112 (Part Number: 777318-112) is a 16-Channel, 16-Bit Analog Input Module. This module is specifically designed for Compact FieldPoint and offers onboard diagnostics, low noise filter analog inputs, and over-ranging for easy configuration and maintenance. This model measures asignals using its onboard resources and returns scaled values as the final product to the user’s control or monitoring program. The NI cFP-AI-112 offers eight voltage input ranges: 0 to 1 V, 0 to 5 V, 0 to 10 V, ±10 V, ±5 V, ±1 V, ±60 mV, and ±300 mV. To ensure accurate readings, the user can choose an input range such that the signal they are measuring does not exceed the upper or lower end of the range.
The filter included in the cFP-AI-112 can be selected to operate at either 50 Hz, 60 Hz, or 500 Hz. The over-ranging function included allows this module to compensate for field mount devices with span or other errors. Thus, a compensation can be achieved for errors up to +4%. In addition, the over-ranging feature helps in preventing clipping related errors. The NI cFP-AI-112 comes equipped with a Delta-Sigma ADC that offers 16-bits resolution at 50 Hz or 60 Hz and 10 bits of resolution at 500 Hz. For transient overvoltage protection, this model offers 2,300 Vrms bank isolation, and has a continuous channel-to-ground isolation of 250 Vrms CAT II. However, it has no channel-to-channel isolation.
The NI cFP-AI-112 offers completely software-configurable input ranges and supports hot-swapping with auto configuration. Thus, the installation of this module on an energized backplane is also possible. This model draws 350 mW of power. The NI device weighs 4 oz. It has a recommended operating temperature range of –40 to 70 °C, a storage temperature range of –50 to 85 °C, a noncondensing humidity range of 10 to 90% RH, and a random and sinusoidal operating vibration of 5 grms and 5 g respectively–all at a frequency range of 10 to 500 Hz.
The cFP-Al-112 Analog Input Module has been declared Obsolete by National Instruments, but will still be available in perpetuity for both purchase and repairs with Apex Waves.
