National Instruments NI-9146 CompactRIO Chassis
The NI 9146 (Part Number: 782445-01) Ethernet RIO has 4 slots and is designed to add distributed industrial C Series I/O to the user’s 10/100 Ethernet network. This CompactRIO Chassis provides a simple software, which allows the user to access their I/O with the NI RIO Scan Interface or the user-programmable FPGA from any Windows-based or LabVIEW Real-Time system. The NI-9146 does not need the LabVIEW Real-Time Module to access C Series I/O in Windows-based systems.
The LabVIEW FPGA Module can be utilized to program the Spartan-6 LX45 FPGA without experience in FPGA digital design. The FPGA on this Chassis offers dependable high-speed I/O, customizable timing, and advanced processing algorithms for the user’s high-speed control applications. Also, the user does not have to utilize the LabVIEW FPGA Module if they want to access the I/O only through the NI RIO Scan Interface.
The NI 9146 Ethernet RIO Chassis can be mounted horizontally on a flat, vertical, metallic surface like a panel or wall. For this configuration, the highest ambient temperature allowed for operation is 70 °C. Other mounting options for the NI-9146 are on a panel or wall in other configurations, on a non-metallic surface, in an enclosure, on a desktop, on a rack, or on a 35 mm DIN rail. The installation of the NI 9146 CompactRIO Chassis must have 1 inch on the top and bottom of the Chassis allowed for air circulation, as well as 2 inches in front of the modules for cabling clearance.
