National Instruments cRIO-9074 CompactRIO Controller
Featured with 128 MB DRAM, 400 MHz CPU, and 256 MB Internal Storage, the National Instruments cRIO-9074 (Part Numbers: 779999-01, 780177-01, and 782415-01) is an embedded Controller for CompactRIO. This model comes with two Ethernet ports, one serial port, a reset button, DIP switches, indication LEDs, and a power connector. The specifications across the part numbers are the same, except that part number 782415-01 has an extended operating temperature range, and part number 780177-01 has a conformal coating. The NI cRIO-9074 is superior to other models from its family since it has a SMB connector as well. The SMB connector can be used for connecting various digital devices to the Controller. As an example, consider connecting the pulse-per-second output signal being generated by a compatible GPS device. This output can be connected to the Controller through the SMB connector for correction of the system clock’s drift.
The DIP switches provided on the National Instruments NI cRIO-9074 are NO FPGA, USER 1, NO APP, IP RESET, CONSOLE OUT, and SAFE MODE switches. The user should ensure that all DIP switches are in the OFF position when receiving their Controller because their default position is OFF. The user can utilize the CONSOLE OUT switch with a serial-port terminal program to read the firmware version and IP address of the Controller. To reset the IP address, the user can reboot the cRIO-9074 with the IP RESET switch in the ON position. This operation will reset all TCP/IP related settings and the IP address of the cRIO-9074 ComapctRIO Controller to default values as set by the vendor.
The USER 1 switch comes un-configured and users can get it configured as desired through their embedded applications, such as RT Read Switch VI. The NI cRIO-9074 comes with a set of strategically located LEDs to keep the user informed about the various aspects of their device activity and health. The controller consumes a maximum power of 20 W. The NI device weighs 32.7 oz.
The cRIO-9074 is a Legacy CompactRIO Controller that is no longer available from National Instruments, but it will remain available in perpetuity with Apex Waves for both purchase and repairs!
