National Instruments cRIO-9082 CompactRIO Controller

Featured with a Xilinx Spartan-6 LX150 FPGA, 2 GB of DDR3 system memory, and 32 GB of CFast SSD nonvolatile storage, the National Instruments cRIO-9082 (Part Numbers: 781787-02, 781787-12, 781787-03) is an 8-Slot, CompactRIO Controller. This model comes with a robust configuration and broad connectivity options, making it suitable for critical and complex industrial applications. The various part numbers of the cRIO Controller differ depending on their operating system. Part numbers 781787-02 and 781787-03 are both for the RealTime OS, but part number 781787-03 is also conformal coated. Part number 781787-12 is designed for use with the Windows OS. 

This cRIO-9082 features an Intel Core i7-660UE processor with two cores, a base frequency of 1.33 GHz, and a maximum single-core Turbo Boost frequency of 2.4 GHz. It includes 4 MB of shared on-die L3 cache and 256 KB of L2 cache per core. For display output, the VGA port supports a maximum resolution of 1600 × 1200 at 60 Hz. The device is equipped with four USB 2.0 ports that support various USB peripherals, including keyboards, mice, and external storage devices.

The reconfigurable Xilinx Spartan-6 LX150 FPGA used in this module offers 4,824 kbit of block RAM, 3 DMA channels, 180 DSP slices, 184,304 flip-flops, 92,152 (6-input) LUTs. Additionally, the internal real-time clock has an accuracy of 200 ppm (35 ppm at 25 °C). The maximum power consumption is 75 watts, and the input voltage range is 9 V to 30 V. The cRIO-9082 also supports redundant power supply inputs for increased reliability.

When it comes to environmental specifications, the cRIO-9082 has an operating temperature range of 0 °C to 45 °C, which can be extended to 0 °C to 55 °C when using an NI panel mount kit. When not being used, the storage temperature of the device ranges from -40 °C to 85 °C. The physical dimensions of this cRIO Controller measure 15.89 x 3.43 x 4.80 in. (403.7 mm × 88.1 mm × 121.9 mm), and it weighs 6.7 lb. (3.1 kg).

The cRIO-9082 is no longer available from National Instruments, but the CompactRIO Controller will remain available in perpetuity with Apex Waves for both purchase and repair services!
