National Instruments sbRIO-9606 CompactRIO Single-Board Controller
Featured with a Xilinx Spartan-6 LX45 FPGA (Filed-Programmable Gates Array) and 512 MB of nonvolatile memory, the NI sbRIO-9606 is a CompactRIO Single-Board Controller. This Controller comes equipped with a Mezzanine Card connector as well. Thus, you can extend the functionality of this device by adding more peripherals and C Series modules. The RIO Mezzanine Card Connector (RMC) provides direct connectivity between external modules and the FPGA and integrated processor of the NI sbRIO-9606. This CompactRIO Single-Board Controller has various other ports, including CAN, USB, and Ethernet ports, which make it capable of communicating and interfacing with a wide variety of external devices.
The RIO Mezzanine Card Connector (RMC) incorporated in this embedded controller has 96 3.3 V digital I/O lines. Moreover, the RMC card comes with six power pins to provide power to the components of the attached Mezzanine Card. All the DIO channels provided on this CompactRIO Single-Board Controller can withstand 3 mA DC loads. The NI sbRIO-9606 features an RS-232 Serial IDC header. Thus, you can connect this controller with other serial communication devices to construct a customized control or data acquisition system.
The CAN IDC header incorporated in this CompactRIO Single-Board Controller has CAN_L (CAN Low) and CAN_H (CAN High) pins and offers connectivity to a CAN bus. This Controller fully supports USB mass-storage devices designed to work with USB 2.0. The NI sbRIO-9606 comes with a dedicated power connector and requires an external DC power supply to operate. This CompactRIO Controller can only be connected to Measurement Category I voltages.
Intended for indoor use only, both the operating and storage temperature ranges for the sbRIO-9606 Controller range from -40 to 85 °C. The operating and storage humidity ranges measure 10 to 90% and 5 to 95%, respectively. Both humidity ranges are noncondensing. These environmental specifications were tested in accordance in with the IEC 60068-2-1, IEC 60068-2-2, and IEC 60068-2-56 specifications. The cRIO Controller weighs in at 3.139 oz.
