National Instruments 785809-01 Multifunction I/O Device

The National Instruments 785809-01 Multifunction I/O Device is an advanced DAQ device which is also known as PCle-6376. It is designed for tasks such as IF digitization, transient recording, telecom industry testing, ultrasound, sonar testing, and high-energy physics experiments. The device features 8 analog input channels, 2 analog output channels, and 24 digital I/O channels.

The analog input section comprises 8 differential channels with a 16-bit ADC resolution while achieving a maximum sample rate of 3.571 MS/s. The 785809-01 device maintains high accuracy with a timing resolution of 10 ns and an input coupling in DC. It offers input ranges of ±1V, ±2V, ±5V, and ±10V, with a bandwidth of 1 MHz. The input impedance is greater than 100 GΩ in parallel with 100 pF when the device is on which reduces the interference and ensure accurate measurements.

For analog output, the 785809-01 DAQ device provides two channels with a 16-bit DAC resolution. The maximum update rate capability of output channels is 3.3 MS/s. It supports output ranges of ±10V, ±5V, or an external reference on APFI 0, with an output impedance of 0.4 Ω and a slew rate of 20 V/µs. The output section includes features like periodic waveform regeneration modes and a settling time of 2 µs for full-scale steps.

The digital I/O section of this module includes 24 channels and each terminal is individually programmed as input or output. The device offers comprehensive protection features, such as ±20V input voltage protection on up to two pins and DMA (scatter-gather) data transfers. It supports various debounce filter settings and high current drive capabilities which makes it suitable for complex digital interfacing tasks.

The operating temperature of this NI 785809-01 Multifunction I/O module ranges between 0 °C to 50 °C. It can be stored under the temperature range of -20 °C to 70 °C. The device integrates easily with various systems with its 4 x PCI Express form factor with the slot compatibility of x4, x8, and x16.
