National Instruments PCI-6013 Multifunction DAQ
The PCI-6013 (Part Number: 778629-01) is a data acquisition device designed by National Instruments specifically for OEM products and a range of applications in research, design verification/test, laboratory automation, and factory testing. With two 24-bit counters, digital I/O, analog input, and digital triggering, it provides extensive capability.
The PCI-6013 allows up to 16 single-ended or 8 differential channels for analog input, with the option to select one channel at a time. For accurate measurements with a precision of 1 in 65,536 it uses a successive approximation ADC with a resolution of 16 bits. The gadget ensures quick data capture with a maximum sampling rate of 200 kS/s. Its DC input coupling and maximum working voltage of ±11 V with respect to ground are characteristic of its bipolar input signal ranges.
Overvoltage protection and a 512 sample FIFO buffer are characteristics of the analog input section that enable seamless data transfers via DMA, interrupts, and programmed I/O. With the option of demand transfer or single transfer, it enables scatter-gather DMA modes. It also provides 512 words of configuration memory and one DMA channel.
The PCI-6013 offers eight lines of general-purpose digital I/O that can be individually software-configured for input or output in digital I/O operations. The digital I/O ports default to high-impedance mode when the system is first started or reset. Additionally, the device's capability is expanded by integrating hardware control for general-purpose counters 0 and 1, which are accessible via DIO6 and DIO7, respectively.
The PCI-6013 utilizes the DAQ-STC chip to enable flexible timing signal interfacing by means of Programmable Function Input (PFI) pins on the I/O connection. Through these connections, external circuitry can be seamlessly integrated with the device, enabling it to control other circuits and devices and be controlled by them. 13 internal timing signals are available on the DAQ-STC chip, all of which are fully software-configurable for maximum versatility.
The National Instruments PCI-6013 is no longer available directly from the manufacturer, but the Multifunction DAQ will remain available with Apex Waves in perpetuity for both purchase and repair services.
