National Instruments PXI-6229 Multifunction I/O Module
The multifunction I/O module PXI-6229 (Part Numbers: 779630-01, 779115-01) from National Instruments is made to offer dependable data acquisition (DAQ) capabilities for a range of uses, such as manufacturing tests, research, design verification/testing, and laboratory automation. With its variety of analog and digital I/O functions, this device can be used for a wide range of activities. It can accommodate 16 differential or 32 single-ended channels with analog inputs with 16-bit resolution. It also has four 16-bit analog outputs that can be used for a variety of control and measurement applications. The PXI-6229 has 48 digital I/O channels altogether; 32 of those are static (P0.<0..31>) and 16 are PFI (Programmable Function Interface) (PFI <0..7>/P1, PFI <8..15>/P2) digital I/O channels. Because these digital I/O lines are grounded, precise and reliable measurements are easily achieved.
The device's capabilities for event-based measurements and control applications are further enhanced by the inclusion of two 32-bit counter/timers and support for digital triggering. Sample rates as high as 250 kS/s are available on the PXI-6229, enabling quick and accurate data capture. Flexible system configurations are ensured by its hybrid-slot compatibility, which enables it to be used in both PXI and PXI Express slots.
When it comes to modification and expansion, the PXI-6229 can be expanded with sensor and high-voltage measurement capabilities by using National Instruments signal conditioning modules, such as SCC or SCXI. By offering power, filtration, and amplification for a range of sensor kinds, these modules increase the device's adaptability for sensor-based applications.To further streamline the setup and measurement procedure, the device also includes the NI-DAQmx driver and configuration tool. Data capture and analysis are made easier by this software assistance, which also expedites interface with other National Instruments products.
Physically, the Multifunction I/O Module measures the dimensions of a standard 3U PXI board, and it weighs in at 6.0 oz (171 g). The PXI-6229 has an operating temperature range of 0 ºC to 55 ºC and a storage temperature of -20 ºC to 70 ºC.
