National Instruments 778442-01 PXI Sound and Vibration Module

Part number 778442-01 from National Instruments is the identifying part number for the PXI-4461 Sound and Vibration Module. Made for sound and vibration applications, this versatile device features 2 input channels with input coupling that can be selected independently as AC or DC. The module comes equipped with accelerometers, microphones, and all of the hardware necessary to perform accurate measurements. The 778442-01 boasts a variety of connector types for optimal connectivity- including female BNC connectors for analog I/O connections and a male SMB connector for digital trigger connections. Whether it is being used for machine status monitoring, audio tests, or another application- this Sound and Vibration Module is an excellent choice for a wide range of test and measurement setups.

Each channel of the 778442-01 supports input settings that are configurable by the user. In addition, the input range can be tuned by using one of six gain levels. It boasts 2 analog output and 2 analog input channels, each of which support both differential and pseudodifferential configurations with 50 Ω impedance to chassis ground. The analog-to-digital converter of the 778442-01 operates on a delta-sigma architecture and boasts a resolution of 24 bits. The FIFO buffer size is set at 2,047 samples, and data transfers are facilitated through direct memory access (DMA). 

When excluding the connectors, the dimensions of the 778442-01 measure 16 cm × 10 cm (6.3 in. × 3.9 in.), making it the perfect size to fit into a 3U CompactPCI slot. This conveniently portable module weighs in at only 241 g (8.5 oz), and has an operating temperature range of 0 to 55 °C (32 °F to 131 °F).
