National Instruments 777383-01 Multifunction DAQ 

National Instruments part number 777383-01 is an identifying part number for the PCI-6040E, a Multifunction DAQ Device with 16 Analog Input, 2 Analog Output and 8 Digital Input/Output Channels. The NI 777383-01 allows the users to get up to 500 kS/s (1-channel, 250 kS/s multichannel), 12-bit resolution on the analog input channels. Depending on the user's hard drive type, it can stream to disk at rates up to 250 kS/s. The analog output channels offer a resolution of 12-bit and a data speed of 1 MS/s. 

This multifunction acquisition device features SCANCLK, an output signal that creates a pulse with the leading edge occurring 50 to 100 ns after an A/D conversion begins. The polarity of this output is software-selectable and is usually set so that a low-to-high leading edge can clock external analog input multiplexers, indicating when the data signal has been sampled and can be removed. This signal is software-enabled and has a pulse width of 400 to 500 ns. 

Alternatively, EXTSTROBE is an output signal that generates either a single pulse or a series of eight pulses in hardware strobe mode. An external device can use this signal to latch signals or trigger events. In single-pulse mode, the software controls the level of the EXTSTROBE signal. A 10 µs and a 1.2 µs clock are available for generating a sequence of eight pulses in hardware strobe mode. There is a 68-pin male 0.050 D-type I/O connection on the device. It features real-time execution with a dedicated 700 MHz Pentium III onboard processor, 32 MB of DRAM for user-defined programs, 32 MB onboard CompactFlash storage, and a maximum single PID loop rate of 26 kHz.
