In addition, the module features 9 terminal bases per bank. The NI 777517-00 serves as a central interface module within the FieldPoint I/O system, supporting connectivity for over nine FieldPoint I/O modules via RS232. It can manage up to 25 network modules or 225 I/O modules on an RS-485 network. Facilitating communication between I/O modules and a host PC, the FP-1000 utilizes a local high-speed bus protocol.

Baud rates are switch selectable, offering options of 300, 1200, 2400, 9600, 38400, 57600, and 115200. This module operates using the Optomux protocol, enabling compatibility with any application software that supports Optomux.
Once the FieldPoint bank, comprising network modules and I/O modules, is configured, users can seamlessly communicate with the FieldPoint modules using such software. This flexibility enhances the integration and usability of the 777517-00 in various industrial applications.This model features a watchdog clock, Hot-PnP plug and play functionality, direct connection to a PC serial port (RS232), and advanced diagnostics and maintenance capabilities.
The NI 777517-00 is managed using FieldPoint software, which includes utilities like FieldPoint Explorer for configuration, BridgeVIEW server, Lookout driver class, LabVIEW Vis, LabWindows/CVI functions, and an OPC server for seamless integration into various control and monitoring applications.
National Instruments has declared obsolete status for the 777517-00, however, it will remain available via Apex Waves.
