National Instruments FP-RLY-422 Relay Module
The NI FP-RLY-422 (Part Number: 777518-422) is a versatile, 4-Channel Relay Module for FieldPoint that can be used for controlling low voltage to 125 VDC and 250 VAC digital signals. This module comes with three terminals normally open terminal (NO), common relay terminal (IC), and normally closed terminal (NC). The FP-RLY-422 Relay Module features integrated module-to-module isolation that prevents the communication interface, FieldPoint system, and controller from reaching high voltage levels.
This Relay Module has a maximum switching capacity of 3 A at 250 VAC or 35 VDC. In typical conditions, the FP-RLY-422 draws 1.5 W of power from the network module. The relay output circuit of this module consists of four independent electromechanical Form C relays which are break-before-make. The dimensions of this Relay Module are 10.7 x 10.9 x 9.1 cm, and the weight is around 180 g. The relays incorporated in this module have an expected relay life of 1 x 107 operations/s (mechanical) and 300,000 operations at 35 VDC, 3 A (electrical).
The operate, release, and bounce time of the relays used are 1 ms, 5 ms, and 3 ms respectively. With this module, the user can utilize each channel with a different voltage potential because every channel on this module uses electrically isolated output relays, resulting in an arrangement where each relay output operates with a separate ground plane. Thus, users can connect one channel to a 250 VAC signal and another circuit on the same module to a 24 VDC signal.
