National Instruments FP-TB-3 FieldPoint Isothermal Terminal Base

The FP-TB-3 is a FieldPoint Isothermal Terminal Base for thermocouples with 18 screw terminals. The manufacturer of the NI FP-TB-3 is National Instruments. This terminal base can be ordered using part number 777519-03. 16 terminals of the FP-TB-3 are numbered terminals, whereas the remaining two channels are dedicated channel terminals. The two dedicated channel terminals are C channel terminals. The maximum total current through the V and C terminals should be restricted to 10 A. When the overall current draw is lower than 3 A, you can utilize one terminal for the return path. If the total current draw is over 3 A, you should utilize individual C terminals.

The NI FP-TB-3 Terminal Base is created to precisely measure thermocouples when utilized with the FP-TC-120 module. Heat or cold may be conducted to the terminal junction by the thermocouple wire. Although this terminal base is created specially to function with thermocouple modules, I/O modules that do not need external power and that solely utilize terminals 1 to 16 can be utilized with the NI FP-TB-3. 

This terminal base utilizes isothermal construction to decrease thermal gradients on the I/O terminals. This feature helps maximize the preciseness of the thermistor that is utilized for cold junction compensation. Nearby FieldPoint modules (either network modules or I/O modules) generate a thermal gradient across the terminals of the National Instruments FP-TB-3 Terminal Base, which you can evaluate by dividing the higher of the amounts of heat dissipated by each of the adjacent modules by 11 W/°F.
