National Instruments 785596-01 2-Channel FlexRIO Signal Generator

The National Instruments 785596-01 (PXIe-5745) is a highly versatile 2-channel FlexRIO signal generator module designed for applications requiring high density, high performance signal generation. This module enables direct RF generation up to 3 GHz with a resolution of 12 bits that makes it suitable for demanding applications in radar, electronic warfare and communications. It offers dual channel operation at 3.2 GS/s for generating signals up to 1.5 GHz and single channel wideband upconversion at 6.4 GS/s.

The analog output capabilities of this 2 channel signal generator are equally impressive with dual channels that operate simultaneously. It features an internal sample clock of 6.4 GS/s and support for complex single channel mode. The module utilizes a DAC38RF82 digital to analog converter that offers 12-bit resolution for precise signal generation. It also includes various clock configuration options, such as internal PXI_CLK10 and external sample clock inputs that ensure synchronization flexibility in multi channel and multi device setups.

The 785596-01 module is equipped with a reconfigurable Xilinx Kintex UltraScale FPGA that allows for custom real-time signal processing, waveform generation, and signal modulation or demodulation. The FPGA options include KU035, KU040 and KU060 models that offer different levels of logic resources, DSP slices and embedded block RAM to accommodate a wide range of application needs. With support for LabVIEW FPGA, users can dynamically create and manipulate waveforms. The NI 785596-01 features 8 single ended channels with support for multiple voltage families that include 3.3 V, 2.5 V, 1.8 V, 1.5 V, and 1.2 V for digital I/O. 

These channels are bidirectional along with a maximum output toggle rate of 60 MHz. The module supports high speed serial multi gigabit transceivers with data rates ranging from 500 Mbps to 16.375 Gbps that provide robust connectivity options for high speed data transfer applications.The 785596-01 is a compact, single slot PXI Express module with a form factor compliant with PXI Express specification v2.1. It requires a maximum power of 58 W and operates within a temperature range of 0 °C to 55 °C. The module includes compliance with military standards for shock, vibration, and environmental testing that ensures reliable operation in challenging conditions.
