National Instruments NI-7931 Controller for FlexRIO
The NI-7931 (Part number: 783763-01) Controller for FlexRIO has a Xilinx Kintex-7 325T FPGA, an ARM Cortex-A9 processor (Dual Core), 512 MB system memory, and onboard DDR3 DRAM up to 2 GB. This FlexRIO Controller also comes with dedicated clocking hardware to deliver a versatile clocking solution for FlexRIO systems. The internal reference clock frequency of the NI-7931 is 100 MHz, while its frequency pull range is +/-100 ppm.
The NI 7931 Controller for FlexRIO offers dependable, extended operation for applications that require embedded signal processing and advanced I/O capability. The NI 7931 Controller can be mounted with part number 784365-01. While the mounting position is not limited, the user should note that if they mount the NI-7931 upside-down, then they should ensure the FlexRIO Adapter Module is supported if they anticipate shock more than 30 g/11 ms. There also must be a minimum of one inch clearance on both sides of the controller when it is mounted to guarantee the maximum allowable ambient temperature. In addition, there are optional rubber feet which the user can install, but they should not be installed if the NI-7931 is directly mounted.
The SD card of this FlexRIO Controller supports SD and SDHC standards and has a nonvolatile expandable memory up to 32 GB. The typical standby power consumption of this module is 11.4 W and the maximum power supply is up to 60 W. The recommended power supply for this controller is >75 W, 12 VDC.
