National Instruments 777857-01 Frame Grabber
Part Number 777857-01 is the identifying part number for the National Instruments PCI-1411 Frame Grabber. The 777857-01 is a single-channel, monochrome, or color image acquisition device with integrated real-time HSL color conversion, leading to fast color matching. It supports RS-170/NTSC and CCIR/PAL input formats at the rate of 29.97 frames/s and 25 frames/s respectively. On the other hand, it supports the following output formats: 32-bit RGB, 32-bit HSL, 8-bit R, G, B, H, S, or L with a square pixel aspect ratio.
The 777857-01 also features a video input channel that can read composite video signals over a BNC connector and Y/C video signals over an S-Video connector. The input impedance on this channel is 75 Ω ± 1%. As for the absolute accuracy, the luma gain and chroma gain are within ±2.5% of the reading while the temperature drift is <250 ppm/°C.
The provision for A/D conversion in the 777857-01 is as follows: an 8-bit 2X oversampling for composite video and two 8-bit 2X oversampling for Y/C (S-Video). The sampling frequencies for the RS-170/NTSC and CCIR/PAL inputs are 27.54 MHz and 29.5 MHz respectively. For color decoding in composite videos, a chroma-trap filter removes chroma information from the luma signal and a bandpass filter isolates the chroma signal removing the luma signal.
The 777857-01 comes with an onboard 16 MB synchronous dynamic RAM for temporary frame storage and three 256 x 8 lookup tables. Furthermore, it supports PCI initiator (master) and PCI target (slave) capabilities. The module has a maximum theoretical data transfer rate of 133 MB/s and a sustained rate of 100 MB/s when acting as the PCI Master.
The 777857-01 draws 1 A of current from a +5 V supply or 75 mA from a +12 V supply. The module measures (4.2 × 6.9 in.) in physical dimensions and weighs 0.3 lb. The recommended operating temperature range for the module is 0 °C to 55 °C at a relative humidity of 5% to 90%. Likewise, it can be stored at temperatures between –20 °C to 70 °C.
