National Instruments PCI-1422 IMAQ Device
Featured with RS422 (Part Number: 777959-01) camera compatibility, 40 MHz pixel clock rate, and up to 80 MB/s acquisition rate, the National Instruments PCI-1422 is a 16-Bit, digital camera IMAQ Device. The NI PCI-1422 supports a broad range of digital cameras from various camera manufacturers. This device acquires digital images while operating in real time and can store the acquired images in an integrated, onboard frame memory or transfer them to the system memory directly. Featuring a high-speed and efficient data flow path, the IMAQ PCI-1422 can be utilized for both scientific and industrial environments.
As a standalone device, the NI PCI-1422 offers four general purpose control lines. Users can configure the four lines to generate precise timing signals to control acquisition through digital cameras. The four external I/O lines can be utilized as high-speed digital Input/output lines or as triggers. The National Instruments PCI 1422 IMAQ Device can drive and receive differential-level or TTL camera control signals. Also, the device has a 100-pin SCSI-type connector on which the camera control signals can be modulated independently for the control and activation of lines.
This IMAQ Device employs a 64 KB x 16-bit lookup table (LUT) that can be used for 2 x 256 KB by 8-bit LUT operations or 1 x 64 KB by 16-bit lookup table. This LUT can also be configured to perform routine imaging procedures, such as data inversion, contrast enhancement, or various other nonlinear transfer functions. Several digital cameras transfer multiple channels or taps of data simultaneously to boost the camera's frame rate. The circuitry for multiple-tap data formatting incorporated on the PCI-1422 is capable of reordering the data from up to two 8-bit taps.
The PCI-1422 operates using the NI-MAQ driver software. A few other software packages are also offered to help in analyzing and processing images-the NI Vision Builder for Automated Inspection, and the NI Vision Development Module. In addition, the NI-MAQ software provides an interface between the device and your choice Application Development Environment-be it LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, or Measurement Studio.
The status of the PCI-1422 has been declared as Obsolete and is no longer available from National Instruments, but the IMAQ Device will still be available for purchase and repairs with Apex Waves in perpetuity.
