National Instruments PCIe-1430 Camera Link Image Acquisition Device
The NI PCIe-1430 (Part number: 779479-01) is a 2-Channel Frame Grabber Device, fully compatible with the Base-Configuration Camera Link. It is an image acquisition board which is suitable for scientific imaging applications and machine vision; and it has 2 camera input ports. The NI PCIe-1430 works with all base-configuration camera link cameras and imaging devices. This model also supports binarization and inverse binarization for segmentation of an image into two regions.
This model is known for its flexibility, since it can perform asynchronous and simultaneous acquisitions from a maximum of two cameras at a time. It obtains digital images and transports them to the system memory directly on a real-time basis. The NI PCIe-1430 is compatible with the NI-IMAQ and is a simple to install and configurable device. The camera files define and configure the PCIe-1430 with the required information about the output format of the imaging device or camera. This device uses the Real-Time System Integration (RTSI) bus to achieve synchronous operation of multiple motion control and data acquisition devices. This RTSI bus-based arrangement can also be used for simultaneous captures.
The PCIe-1430 operates using the NI-MAQ driver software. A few other software packages are also offered to help in analyzing and processing images-the NI Vision Builder for Automated Inspection, and the NI Vision Development Module. In addition, the NI-MAQ software provides an interface between the device and your choice Application Development Environment (ADE)–be it LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, or Measurement Studio. The device software can be configured using the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) tool.
For straightforward connectivity to Camera Link-compatible cameras, this model has 2 MDR 26-pin connectors. A standard camera link cable is required to connect the camera to the MDR connector. In addition, one I/O line is provided on its front panel and additional I/O lines for pulse train outputs, advanced triggering, and isolated DIO are possible with an extension board called, "NI Camera Link I/O Extension Board". Also, the device is equipped with an SMB connector on the front panel. Another possible solution for more advanced analog or digital system triggering is the combination of the PCIe-1430, NI-IMAQ, and National Instruments Data Acquisition (DAQ).
The PCIe-1430 is no longer available from National Instruments (NI), but the Image Acquisition Device will remain available for purchase in perpetuity with Apex Waves.
