National Instruments PXI-1428 Image Acquisition Module

Featured with 16 MB Onboard Memory and 20 to 50 MHz Pixel Clock Frequency Range, the PXI-1428 (Part Number: 778775-01) is an Image Acquisition Module from National Instruments. This module is designed for base-configuration and medium-configuration camera link cameras to be used in scientific imaging and machine vision applications that require high-bandwidth, high-resolution, and line-scan digital imaging.

The NI PXI-1428 features a 26-pin connector, compatible with all camera control outputs, Camera Link video inputs, and the serial interface. The 68-pin connector on this device connects to the external trigger signals through the IMAQ-D6804 cable. Thus, the user can get this Frame Grabber up and running with simple, small cabling. The PXI-1428 offers 4 x 256 by 8-bit LUTs and supports image scaling and pixel decimation. This Frame Grabber is offered with the standard NI-IMAQ™ driver software. The NI-IMAQ is a windows-based software for image acquisitions, which can scale between various types of acquisition methods and cameras. Using this software and the NI PXI-1428, it is possible to start with a low-cost RS-170 camera and then upgrade to a high-resolution, faster digital camera with almost no software changes.

The National Instruments PXI-1428 is a Camera Link compatible device. The Camera Link is a cabling standard developed by camera vendors, National Instruments, and others. With this device, the user can choose an onboard programmable region of interest as well. As far as its external connection capabilities are concerned, the PXI-1428 supports trigger sense, control signals, pixel clock, trigger polarity, etc.

PXI-1428 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
