National Instruments PXIe-8246 PXI Frame Grabber Module
The PXIe-8246 (Part number: 787314-01) from National Instruments is a frame grabber module ideal for applications in advanced machine vision and scientific imaging. It can capture high-quality images and offer exceptionally high data throughput. This PXI Express module is equipped with 4 GigE ports, as well as PoE (Power over Ethernet), which makes it an efficient and convenient solution for industrial, biomedical imaging and life science applications.
The PXI Frame Grabber Module makes it easy to capture images from any Camera Link and GigE Vision cameras, regardless of base, medium and full configuration. This module allows you to both power cameras over Camera Link (PoCL) and Ethernet (PoE) cables. This is an optimal solution for supplying energy to the cameras with minimum effort. The module is compatible with NI Vision Development Module, making it possible for you to customize it as desired. Additionally, the NI Vision Builder for Automated Inspection (AI) software can be used to quickly and easily configure the module, leading to speedy development and simpler maintenance.
The PXIe-8246 is equipped with four Gigabit Ethernet ports (from Port 0 to Port 3). It can be used to obtain images from GigE Vision cameras. If Power Over Ethernet is enabled, the LED that corresponds to the port will light up. A red LED indicates that PoE protection has been triggered, while a green LED indicates that the PoE is operational. An unlit LED means that the PoE is not powered on.
Additionally, the PXI Frame Grabber Module features two Ethernet status LEDs, providing you with important information about the status of your connection. If the Activity/Link LED is unlit, it means that no link has been established. A solid color LED indicates that a link has been negotiated, while a blinking LED indicates that there is activity on the link. If the Ethernet speed status LED is unlit, it means that there is either no link or a link of 10 Mbps. A green LED indicates a link speed of 100 Mbps, while an amber LED indicates a link speed of 1,000 Mbps.
The PXIe-8246 PXI Frame Grabber Module is a reliable and efficient solution for acquiring high-quality images in various machine vision and scientific imaging applications. With its compatibility with multiple types of cameras, PoE functionality, and convenient status LEDs, this module is an ideal choice for professionals who demand high performance and reliability.
