Featured with complete IEEE 488.2 compatibility and integrated FIFO buffers, the National Instruments PCI-GPIB/LP (Part Numbers: 778255-01 and 778769-01) is a GPIB Instrument Control Device for low-profile PCI. This device offers transfer rates > 1.5 MB/s with IEEE 488.1 and >7.7 MB/s with HS488. The NI PCI-GPIB/LP is equipped with a universal PCI connector, which makes it capable of operating in both 5 V and 3.3 V signal environments. This device incorporates TNT family ASICs and National Instruments PCI-MITE to provide the maximum achievable IEEE 488.2 performance for the PCI bus. The PCI-MITE is a comprehensive PCI interface that is fully compliant with PCI Specification version 2.1.
The NI PCI-GPIB/LP is a fully software-configurable plug-and-play device. The ASIC chip incorporated in this GPIB Instrument Control Device performs the primary Listener, Controller, and Talker functions of the IEEE 488. This device can also implement National Instruments high-speed GPIB protocol called HS488. The National Instruments PCI-GPIB/LP has 1 standard 24-pin IEEE 488 connector. This device is offered with a comprehensive suite of development tools. Thus, you can design and deploy customized applications as per your requirements.
This high-performance GPIB Instrument Control Device is designed for workstations and PCs equipped with compatible PCI expansion slots. The NI PCI-GPIB/LP consumes around 600 mA of power from +5 VDC rail while operating in typical conditions. This device requires no additional power supply, since it draws the required power from the host computer. The PCI-GPIB/LP is a low-profile PCI card. However, both the regular PCI-GPIB and the PCI-GPIB/LP (low profile) controller have similar capabilities and specifications.
