This GPIB Instrument Control Device is specifically designed for computers with PCI Express slots; it allows for an easy integration of the instrument into a system through GPIB. The NI PCIe-GPIB+ is a viable solution to solve and troubleshoot GPIB related software and hardware issues. This model can achieve maximum IEEE 488.2 transfer rates.
The data transfers are entirely handled by the integrated onboard DMA controller without any involvement of microprocessors. This model offers transfer rates up to 8182 Kbytes/second in HS488 mode and up to 1577 Kbytes/s in 3-wire mode. The PCIe-GPIB+ can easily be installed into any unoccupied PCI Express slot in a computer. The compatibility of this device with HS488 turns it into an effective and cost effective alternative to multiple products for controller and analyzer functionality.
The GPIB analyzer software program offered with this device keeps the user updated about the existing state of the GPIB bus on real-time basis. This real time monitoring includes all 16 GPIB control and data lines. The GPIB analyzer software also contains a comprehensive range of tools for interpreting GPIB information captured. There is a capture display window as well that can be used for the monitoring of all ongoing capturing activities. The NI PCIe-GPIB+ offers straightforward and jumperless configuration since it is a plug & play compatible device.
