National Instruments PCI-6220 Multifunction DAQ
The National Instruments PCI-6220 (Part numbers: 779065-01, 191329-04) is a Multifunction DAQ from the M Series. This flexible model features 24 Digital I/O lines and 16 Analog Input channels that are configurable as either 16 single-ended or 8 differential channels. This reliable DAQ is an optimal choice for various applications, ranging from simple laboratory automation to manufacturing testing and design verification. The difference between the two part numbers of the NI PCI-6220 is that part number 779065-01 describes the standard variation of the device, while part number 191329-04 describes the board only variation.
Equipped a single 68-pin VHDCI I/O connector, the bus interface of the NI PCI-6220 has a signal environment of 3.3 V. The 6 DMA channels of the device are able to be used for analog input, digital input or output, or for counter/timer 0 or 1. The power requirements of the Multifunction DAQ device depends on the power rail. During no-load conditions, a rail of +5 V draws a current of 0.02 A, while a rail of +3.3 V draws 0.25 A. A rail of +12 V draws a current of 0.15 A. To protect against potential damage, the NI PCI-6220 has a maximum current limit of 1 A for a terminal of +5 V.
Designed for indoor use, the NI PCI-6220 Multifunction DAQ has a recommended warm up time of 15 minutes before use. To maintain accuracy and reliability, the device should be calibrated every year. When in use, the PCI-6220 should only be operated within temperatures ranging from 0 ºC to 55 ºC, though this range can be expanded to -20 ºC to 70 ºC when the device is nonoperational in storage.
