National Instruments PCI-6281 Multifunction DAQ
The National Instruments PCI-6281 (Part number: 779019-01) is an M Series Multifunction DAQ. This device is improved for 18-bit analog input accurateness. The voltage range is ±10 V. This resolution is equal to 5 digits for measurements of DC. This model has a built-in low pass filter system. This system rejects the high-frequency noise. It can operate at an adjustable 40 kHz frequency. It also helps prevent aliasing. This device can be used for research and design test applications. This model is also applicable in laboratory automation and manufacturing tests. The NI PCI 6281 DAQ is compatible with the SCC or SCXI signal conditioning modules. These modules are used to add sensors and high voltage measurement capabilities. This Multifunction DAQ comes with the low cost and constant DAQ competencies for a varied range of applications.
The PCI 6281 NI has 16 single-ended or 8 differential analog input channels. The sampling rate of each channel is 625 kS per second. The NI PCI-6281 M Series DAQ offers two analog channels at the output. The AO has 16-bit resolution. The device also has two counter/timers with 32-bit resolution. These can operate at the 80 MHz frequency. Besides, it has 24 digital I/O lines and seven programmable input ranges.
The PCI 6281 is run using the NIDAQmx driver software which is compatible with software packages/application development environments (ADEs) such as LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, or Measurement Studio. The device can be verified using the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) tool. It has a recommended warm-up time of 15 minutes and should be calibrated at least once every 2 years. Additionally, the Multifunction DAQ has one 68 pin VHDCI I/O connector, and has a maximum operating voltage up to 11 V.
The National Instruments PCI-6281 Multifunction DAQ weighs about 5.6 oz, and has physical dimensions of 4.2 x 6.1 in. The NI device has a recommended operating temperature range of 0 ºC to 55 ºC, a storage temperature range of -20 ºC to 70 ºC, a noncondensing humidity range of 10% RH to 90% RH, operating and non-operating random vibrations of 0.3 grms and 2.4 grms respectively – all at a frequency range of 5 to 500 Hz.
The PCI-6281 is no longer available from National Instruments, but Apex Waves will keep the Multifunction DAQ available in perpetuity for both purchase and repairs!
