National Instruments PXIe-8388 PXI Remote Control Module
The PXIe-8388 (Part Number: 781760-01) is a Remote Control Module designed by National Instruments. This module is an x16 Gen 2 PXI Express module This module is capable of sustained throughput ranged up to 5.6 GB/s unidirectional and can also sustain throughput up to 2.8 GB/s bidirectional. The NI PXIe-8388 also features multi-chassis configuration for PXI Express Systems. This Remote Control Module is installed in a PXI Chassis.
The PXIe-8388 module has a high-lane-count PCI Express switch, which enables peer-to-peer data transfers from one PXI Express slot to any other slot. There is a downstream port in this module to allow peer-to-peer data transfers between all the daisy-chained chassis. It helps the user control PXI and Compact PCI systems from a PC. There is no additional software required for this module. The NI PXIe-8388 Remote Control Module uses a completely transparent MXI-Express link. It also installs the PCIe-8388 through a copper, x16 MXI-Express cable. The cable length is 3 m maximum.
The NI PXIe-8388 module has physical dimensions of 3.9 x 6.3 inches. The module weighs 9.2 oz. (261 g). This module is a one slot system and can expand up to two controllers. This module is fully attuned with the PXI Express Hardware Specification. The pollution degree is 2.
