National Instruments NB-AO-6 Analog Output Board

The NB-AO-6 is an Analog Output Board for the Macintosh NuBus, which is ideal for many Macintosh control and data acquisition applications. This board can be utilized with the NB-DMA2800 to create multiple-channel simultaneous waveforms. The NB-AO-6 is designed by National Instruments. The NI NB-AO-6 can be ordered under the part number 776160-01. The NB-AO-6 board functions with NI-DAQ driver software for Macintosh. This board can be programmed with LabVIEW for Macintosh. The NI NB-AO-6 belongs to the NB Series of Macintosh NuBus boards.

The National Instruments NB-AO-6 Analog Output Board contains 6 identical analog output channels. The current output type is 4 to 20 mA current sink to ground on this board. The current outputs have short circuit and open circuit protection. The NI NB-AO-6 has unipolar or bipolar voltage outputs. Several of the voltage ranges include 0 to 10 V and 0 to 2.5 V. The voltage outputs have short circuit to ground protection.

The DACs on the NB-AO-6 board are PM7645HP D/A with 12 bits resolution for each channel. The throughput on this Analog Output Board is 350 kHz maximum for one channel and 58 kHz maximum for all six channels. The National Instruments NB-AO-6 has a 50-pin male ribbon-cable I/O connector. A 2.5 VDC signal referenced to AGND on this Analog Output Board can be utilized to calibrate the internal 10V reference. However, since this board has low time and temperature coefficients with chopper-stabilizing and flying-capacitor techniques, this ensures that recalibration is rarely required. In addition, adjusting the jumper settings does not impact calibration.
