NI 150579-01 Switch Cable
Part number 150579-01 is a shielded, SwitchBlock Cable from National Instruments. This 1-meter cable is used for carrying signals from compatible SwitchBlock Cards to the TBX-2809 screw terminal block. This Switch Cable has a male/female combination of SCSI connectors. The rated maximum current is 25 mA. Part number 150579-01 Switch Cable (aka SH96F-96M-RES-NI) is a variant of the SH96F-96M-NI. This Switch Cable comes featured with 100 Ohm series resistors on all analog bus lines and columns.
This version of the National Instruments Switch Cable is recommended for systems with inductive and capacitive loads. The series resistors of part number 150579-01 prevent reed relay switches from being damaged because of switching of inductive and capacitive loads. Inductive loads are associated with high flyback voltages and capacitive loads are associated with high inrush currents. The use of resistive protection in the part number 150579-01 Switch Cable can significantly improve contact lifetime of the relays contained by the associated SwitchBlock Card.
