National Instruments SHC68-C68-A1 Shielded Cable Assembly

The National Instruments SHC68-C68-A1 is a 1-meter shielded analog cable designed for use with NI data collection hardware, specifically the NI 63xx (X Series) and NI 62xx (M Series). A maximum voltage of ±30 VDC can be handled by this cable, which has two 68-pin male VHDCI (Very High-Density Cable Interconnect) connections supporting 40 single-ended input/output channels.

For high-precision data transmission in demanding applications, the SHC68-C68-A1 is a good choice because of its characteristic impedance of 50Ω ±10% and low resistance of 0.5Ω. At a distance of only 4.9 nanoseconds, the cable's 100μF capacitance and propagation delay ensure very little signal deterioration. There is high accuracy in signal synchronization when the channel-to-channel skew is maintained at 50 picoseconds.

Because of the 7/0.08 mm (or 7/40) stranding design and 32 AWG wire gauge used in its construction, this cable has increased flexibility and durability. The cable is lightweight and manageable in confined areas and during routing within industrial systems, weighing only 255 grams (9.0 oz). It is appropriate for settings where noise is a concern because of its superior shielding against electromagnetic interference (EMI).

The SHC68-C68-A1 is primarily intended for use in data acquisition (DAQ) systems.
