National Instruments PCIe-4065 Digital Multimeter Device

The PCIe-4065 (Part number: 779771-01) is a 6½-digit Digital Multimeter (DMM) Device manufactured by National Instruments. It is the first DMM for PCI Express in the industry. This DMM is used for measurement applications of current and voltage. It can also be used to perform a diode test. Moreover, it is viable for resistance measurements. It is available at an affordable price in the market. The NI PCIe-4065 is applicable to measurement facilities. It can also apply to perform cost-conscious tests. This device is preferable for educational labs and OEMs. It is run using the NI-DMM driver software, has a warm-up time of 30 minutes, and should be externally calibrated at least once a year.

This device implements an isolation mechanism. The value of voltage for it is ±300. It can also measure a current value up to three amperes. The PCIe-4065 features the capability to measure resistance for two types: two or four wire resistance. The NI device has a maximum reading rate of 3000 S/s at 4½ digits (at a resolution of 15 bits), a minimum reading rate of 10 S/s at 6½ Digits (at a resolution of 22 bits), DC voltage and current ranges of 100 mV to 300 V and 10 mA to 3 A respectively, AC voltage and current ranges of 200 mVrms (±320 mVp) to 300 Vrms (±425 Vp) and 10 mArms (±15 mAp) to 3 Arms (±4.2 Ap) respectively.

The NI PCIe-4065 also offers a multimeter solution. The multimeter part of the model measures the voltages in different formats. The measurements include analog to digital voltage and vice versa. This device also has the capability to measure current. The NI PCIe-4065 has a power consumption less than 3. This power usage is specifically for the PCI Express motherboard. This DMM can provide a maximum 3000 reading per second at 4½ digits. The physical dimensions of this Digital Multimeter Device are 7.2 × 0.8 × 4.7 in., and it weighs .5 oz.

The NI PCIe-4065 DMM come with small programs called the drivers of the device. Drivers enable the device to operate its hardware through different operating systems.
