National Instruments PCI-4351 Multifunction DAQ Device
The National Instruments PCI-4351 (Part number: 777789-01) is a Multifunction DAQ Device developed for temperature measurements with high accuracy. This device can measure the temperature of RTDs, thermocouples, and thermistors. This model is also used for measurements of chromatography and resistance. The National Instruments PCI 4351 Multifunction DAQ Device has 16 differential or 14 thermocouple analog input channels, a 24-bit ADC converter, and six reading rates for the user to choose from. It has 8 digital I/O lines with a TTL compatibility. The National Instruments PCI-4351 is featured with ±0.42 °C and J-type thermocouple precision. It also has ±0.12 °C RTD precision and ±0.03 °C thermistor precision. Furthermore, this device is equipped with 5 1⁄2 digit voltage measurements. This model also implements a feature for noise rejection. It has a 68-pin male I/O connector.
The PCI-4351 helps the user complete accurate measurements for power lines. This device has a precise current source for thermistor excitation and RTD. The NI PCI 4351 feature software-selectable ground, which enables the user to measure both ground-referenced signals and floating signals. It is capable of open thermocouple detection per channel. The input channel is linked to DC voltage of 2.5 with the help of a resistance, which has a value of 10 MΩ. The reading increases around 100 mV or more when a thermocouple is broken. This indicates an open circuit condition. The device has a power requirement of 480 mA at +5 V. It has a recommended warm-up time of 30 minutes.
The NI 4351 instrument driver is compatible with software packages like LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, Microsoft Visual Basic, or VI Logger. The NI device measures 4.4 x 7.4 in. in physical dimensions. It has a recommended operating temperature range of 0 °C to 55 °C, a storage temperature range of –20 °C to 70 °C, and a non-condensing humidity range of up to 80% RH.
