National Instruments PCMCIA-DNET DeviceNet Interface Device

The PCMCIA-DNET is a DeviceNet Interface Device. The developer of the NI PCMCIA-DNET device is National Instruments. National Instruments created the PCMCIA-DNET with part number 777599-01. The NI PCMCIA-DNET is a high-speed interface link. The PCMCIA-DNET is designed with the CAN physical layer protocol. The NI PCMCIA-DNET device delivers high performance because it is equipped with an Intel processor. These processors give master/scanner features when the PCMCIA-DNET device is being used on DeviceNet networks. Due to its high-performance and durability, the NI PCMCIA-DNET is widely used in several applications. The main applications of the PCMCIA-DNET device are network management utilities, control applications, a human machine interface based on PC, and control of embedded systems.

The PCMCIA-DNET DeviceNet Interface Device is a Type II PC card. The NI PCMCIA-DNET is compatible with PC card standards. The PCMCIA-DNET device can be used on desktop as well as notebook. The NI PCMCIA-DNET is connected with the computer via a Type II or Type III slot. The processor used in the PCMCIA-DNET device is an 80386EX processor. The Intel microprocessor is responsible for handling communications with the connected interface computer. The NI PCMCIA-DNET device is equipped with the transceivers that are powered by the bus. Another important feature of the PCMCIA-DNET is its optical isolation up to 500 V.

The NI PCMCIA-DNET DeviceNet Interface Device comes with NI-DNET driver software. The driver software of the PCMCIA-DNET can be installed on Windows 9x/Me/NT/XP/2000 operating systems. Windows device drivers are already included in the NI-DNET software.   

PCMCIA-DNET Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the device will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
