National Instruments 779782-01 RF Vector Signal Analyzer

The National Instruments 779782-01 which is also known as the PXI-5661 is an RF Vector Signal Analyzer. It is specially designed for efficient RF acquisition and measurement tasks. It is particularly suited for high-throughput applications that feature a frequency range from 9 kHz to 2.7 GHz and a real-time bandwidth of 20 MHz. The analyzer is equipped with a digitizer that offers 64 MS/s of sampling rate to ensure accurate signal representation.

One of the standout features of the 779782-01 module is its 64 MB onboard memory. The onboard quadrature digital downconverter (DDC) reduces the required load size and accelerates data transfer to the host controller. This unit is ideal for applications that require rapid response times such as software-defined radio (SDR) and real-time signal processing. The device’s high-stability OCXO timebase ensures precise frequency measurements. The NI 779782-01 offers adjustable resolution bandwidth ranging from less than 1 Hz to 10 MHz that provides flexibility for various measurement needs. The hardware tuning resolution is 355 nHz when using the internal sample clock timebase and sample clock timebase divided by 248 for the external sample clock timebase. 

The NI 779782-01 module is equipped with both downconverter (NI 5600) and IF digitizer (NI 5142). The NI 5600 downconverter features a minimum tuning resolution of 1 MHz that ensure fine-tuning capability for detailed analysis. Power requirements for the module are +3.3 VDC, +5 VDC, +12 VDC, and -12 VDC with specified current draws. The device supports a nominal impedance of 50 Ω and AC input coupling along with a maximum DC input voltage of ±25 VDC. This RF Vector Signal Analyzer maintains excellent performance under various environmental conditions along with an operational temperature range of 0 °C to 50 °C and a relative humidity range of 10% to 90%, non-condensing. The NI 779782-01 device is designed for a maximum altitude of 2,000 meters and adheres to Pollution Degree 2 standards. The combined dimensions and weight of the unit, including the NI 5600 and NI 5142 modules, are 21.6 cm × 6.0 cm × 13.0 cm (NI 5600) and 21.6 cm × 2.0 cm × 13.0 cm (NI 5142).
