National Instruments 780413-01 RF Vector Signal Analyzer

The National Instruments 780413-01 (PXIe-5663) RF Vector Signal Analyzer is designed to deliver high performance RF signal analysis across a broad frequency range. This versatile analyzer covers a frequency range from 10 MHz to 1.1 GHz that allows users to conduct wideband measurements with fine tuning resolution down to 533 nHz. The equalized bandwidth varies from 10 MHz to 50 MHz depending on the tuned frequency.

This 780413-01 module supports an adjustable resolution bandwidth ranging from less than 1 Hz to 10 MHz. It utilizes an internal frequency reference with a 10 MHz frequency boasting temperature stability and aging accuracy that ensure consistent performance over time. For enhanced synchronization, an external frequency reference input is supported with rapid lock time. The Vector Signal Analyzer achieves impressive single sideband phase noise levels with values as low as -111 dBc/Hz at 100 MHz in terms of spectral purity. This ensures that the analyzer can accurately measure weak signals without significant interference. The amplitude range extends from the average noise level up to + 30 dBm and RF input attenuation is adjustable in 1 dB steps from 0 dB to 50 dB.

The 780413-01 analyzer’s architecture is designed to minimize spurious responses along with specific rejection levels for intermediate frequency (IF) and sideband spurs. It also features robust input-related spurious performance ensuring that signals are measured with minimal distortion. The local oscillator (LO) leakage is kept to low levels that further enhances the accuracy of signal measurements.

The NI 780413-01 excels in linearity with strong third order intermodulation distortion performance. The Error Vector Magnitude (EVM) and Modulation Error Ratio (MER) specifications underscore the analyzer’s capability to evaluate digital modulation quality across different quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) orders and carrier frequencies. The analyzer’s input and output characteristics include SMA connectors for RF and IF signals along with a maximum safe continuous RF power level of + 30 dBm when RF attenuation is enabled. It also supports advanced configurations with adjustable digital downconversion bandwidth. The module is compact and can fit into a single PXI Express slot.
