National Instruments PXIe-8520 Ethernet Interface Carrier
The PXIe-8520 (part number: 789554-01) is an Ethernet Interface Carrier from National Instruments. This versatile device utilizes an unshielded twisted pair automotive ethernet interface to create applications that test and validate electronic control units (ECUs). The device uses the XI-NET driver and features 4 individual endpoints when used with the IVN-8532. With its modular design, the PXIe-8520 Ethernet interface carrier is able to accommodate a range of interface devices, supporting up to two interface devices.
With a Gen 3 x8 PXI Express form factor, the NI PXIe-8520 is compatible with the PXIe and PXIe Hybrid slots of x1, x4, x8 and x16. It is designed to work in systems that can use drivers, software, and hardware to be optimized for a specific use case. The current and power for the device measure +3.3 V at 3 A , and +12 V at 4 A. The maximum total power measures 58 W.
For optimal performance, certain accessories are recommended for use with the NI PXIe-8520. The suggested cable is an Ethernet cable for use with the IVN-8532 device, specifically the Rosenberger LCA-101-1000-Z-Z.
