National Instruments PXIe-8522 PXI Automotive Ethernet Interface Module
The PXIe-8522 is a PXI Automotive Ethernet Interface Module. The NI PXIe-8522 module has been developed by National Instruments. The part number of the PXIe-8522 module is 787312-01. The NI PXIe-8522 is a 100BASE-T1 module with UTP protocol. The PXIe-8522 module can be used to develop various applications. The NI PXIe-8522 is mainly designed for those applications in which automotive ethernet is required.
The National Instruments PXIe-8522 PXI Automotive Ethernet Interface Module can provide a maximum of four endpoints. The NI PXIe-8522 module can also support as many as 2 Network Terminal Access Points. Another important feature of the PXIe-8522 is onboard hardware timestamping. The NI PXIe-8522 can function as four independent masters or 802.1AS slaves. This feature is useful for synchronizing the PXIe-8522 module with an externally connected clock. The NI PXIe-8522 module can also synchronize with the whole PXI system. Different LEDs are also installed in the PXIe-8522 module. These LEDs are present on the front panel of the PXI Automotive Ethernet Interface Module. The LEDs mainly display the status of activity for the module and different network links.

The main types of application software that are used with the PXIe-8522 for developing applications are LabWindows/CVI, C/C++, and LabVIEW.
