National Instruments PXIe-1082 PXI Chassis

The National Instruments PXIe-1082 (Part Number: 780321-01) chassis meets the requirements of a wide range of high-performance test and measurement applications due to its high-bandwidth backplane. This model supports PXI Express modules in all slots and accommodates standard PXI hybrid-compatible modules in four hybrid slots (Slots 5-8). This chassis offers up to 2 GB/s of slot dedicated bandwidth in a single direction per PXI Express Slot. The NI PXIe-1082 features an extended operating temperature range for applications requiring enhanced cooling performance.

The PXIe-1082 integrates a high-performance 8-slot PXI Express backplane with a high-output power supply and a structural design optimized for usability in various applications. Users will get a best-in-class portable and rugged solution when they combine the NI PXIe-1082 with the NI PMA-1115 portable LCD monitor and keyboard accessory.

The PXIe-1082 chassis operates in an extended temperature range up to 55 °C, making it suitable for demanding environments. It incorporates all features of the latest PXI specifications, including support for PXI and PXI Express modules and built-in timing and synchronization features.

This model comes with remote power-inhibit control and a variable-speed fan controller that optimizes cooling and acoustic emissions. Its 38 W per slot cooling meets increased PXIe cooling requirements. The PXIe-1082’s power supply, temperature, and fan monitoring features provide high reliability, and the device is HALT tested for increased durability. The model operates quietly at 43.6 dBA in Auto mode for ambient temperatures up to 30 °C.

The PXIe-1082 can optionally be mounted by using either a back rack mount kit or a set of mounting brackets for the front panel. Other optional accessories include slot blockers, a replacement power supply shuttle, and EMC filler panels. The AC-powered device weighs 19.4 lb (8.8 kg) and has physical dimensions of 6.97 (H) × 10.68 (W) × 15.61 (D) inches. It has a recommended operating temperature range of 0 to 55 °C, a storage temperature range of -40 to 71 °C, and a non-condensing humidity range of 10 to 90% (operating) and 5 to 95% (storage). The operating and non-operating random vibration levels are 0.3 grms and 2.4 grms, respectively, across a frequency range of 5 Hz to 500 Hz.
