As a part of the PXI-8115 model series, the 781860-01 is an Intel Core i5 embedded controller for PXI systems. Processor-intensive modular instrumentation and data gathering applications are the focus of this controller. Single Channel DDR3 memory, starting at 2 GB and expandable to 8 GB, is supported. It has a dual-core Intel Core i5-2510E processor operating at 2.50 GHz with a 3 MB L2 cache. Appropriate storage for a range of applications is offered by its 250 GB Serial ATA hard disk.
With six Hi-Speed USB 2.0 ports, two DisplayPort video outputs, one RS-232 serial port, one parallel port, one PCI-based GPIB controller, and two 10/100/1000BASE-TX (Gigabit) Ethernet ports, the connectivity is extensive. Extra system customization is possible with the ExpressCard/34 slot included.
This PXI/CompactPCI embedded computer uses cutting-edge packaging techniques to combine common I/O functions in a small container. The 781860-01, when paired with a PXI-compatible chassis (such the NI PXI-1042), creates a ruggedized, fully PC-compatible solution. It improves system performance and flexibility by supporting PXI Express with two dual-link and four single-link configurations.
Several software tools from National Instruments are compatible with the 781860-01 and can be used to maximize the capability of PXI systems. These comprise hardware drivers such as NI-DAQmx, which offer outstanding control and usability for NI hardware, as well as LabVIEW, Measurement Studio, and LabWindows/CVI.
Pre-installed Windows 7 Professional or Windows XP FES on the 781860-01 controller ensures compatibility and facilitates easy integration with pre-existing systems. Its further enhanced usefulness in intricate testing and measuring contexts comes from its PXI trigger bus input/output.
