National Instruments PXIe-8102 PXI Controller
The PXIe-8102 (Part Numbers: 781184-00, 781184-01, 781184-02, 781184-33) is a high-performance PXI Controller manufactured by National Instruments that is designed for PXI and CompactPCI systems. The PXIe-8102 comes within a rugged packaging that incorporates standard I/O terminals. When combined with a PXIe-compatible chassis, it forms a fully functional PC-compatible computer.
The part numbers of the PXI Controller differ depending on the operating systems that they are compatible with. Part number 781184-00 uses local OS, part number 781184-01 uses Windows XP, part number 781184-02 uses Windows Vista, and part number 781184-33 uses Real-Time Embedded Software. The National Instruments PXIe-8102 features a 1.9 GHz Intel Celeron Dual-Core T3100 processor. The minimum storage memory of the device is 80 GB, while the standard RAM memory is 1 GB—however, the RAM memory can be extended up to 4 GB.
The different communication ports that are available in the PXIe-8102 include a RS-232 serial port, a parallel port, and an Ethernet port. In addition, the controller incorporates a DVI-I analog/digital video channel and 2 USB ports that are capable of high-speed data transfer. The device also features a PXI trigger and a reset button. The PXIe-8102 PXI Controller can easily work with application software such as Measurement Studio, LabVIEW, Microsoft VB, Visual Studio .NET, Visual C++, and LabWindow/CVI. The device uses NI-DAQmx driver software and supports the operating systems of Windows Vista and Windows 7 Professional.

It has a recommended operating temperature range of 5 to 50 °C, a storage temperature range of –40 to 65 °C, an operating and storage humidity range of 10% to 90% and 5% to 95% respectively, and an operating and non-operating random vibration of 0.3 grms and 2.4 grms respectively–all at a frequency range of 5 to 500 Hz.
The status of the PXIe-8102 has been announced as Obsolete by National Instruments, but the Controller will still be available in perpetuity for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
