National Instruments PXI-2530 PXI Matrix Switch Module

Featured with three matrix and four multiplexer configurations, the National Instruments PXI-2530 (Part Number: 778660-01, 189291A-01) is a 128-Channel PXI Matrix Switch Module. This module offers up to 900 ch/s switching speed. The multiplexer configurations achievable with this model include: 32 x 1 (4-wire), 64 x 1 (2-wire), 128 x 1 (1-wire), etc. The matrix configurations possible are 4 x 16 (2-wire), 8 x 16 (1-wire), or 4 x 32 (1-wire). The device has a channel-to-channel maximum switching voltage of 60 VDC, 30 VACrms, CAT I, and a channel-to-ground maximum switching voltage of 60 VDC, 30 VACrms, CAT I. It has a maximum input current of 0.4 A per terminal, and a maximum switching input power of 10 W. The NI PXI-2530 is widely considered a viable front-end solution for high-speed measurement instruments like the PXI-4070 FlexDMM.

The reed relays incorporated have a mechanical life of 1 × 109 cycles and 555 μS relay operate/release time. With this Matrix Switch Module, the user can achieve >60 dB channel-to-channel isolation over a 200 kHz frequency band. To be utilized with the independent topology in any combination, the PXI-2530 offers eight interconnected banks of 16 x 1 (1-wire) multiplexers. To configure and program this module, the user can utilize the NI-SWITCH driver, which provides full functionality for every switch module. The NI PXI-2530 can also be used with the TB-2630, TB-2631, or TB-2632 Terminal Block to configure the Matrix Switch Module into different arrangements.

In any 50 Ω system and 1-wire configuration, this model can provide >15 and >3 MHz bandwidth while operating in 16 × 1 and 128 × 1 topologies respectively. For receiving trigger signals and to output trigger signals, the NI PXI-2530 can utilize either front panel or PXI trigger lines 0–7. The National Instruments PXI-2530 comes equipped with a 176-pin docking station plug front panel connector. The device has a recommended operating temperature of 0 °C to 55 °C. The device weighs 14 oz., and measures 8.5 x 0.8 x 5.1 in. in dimensions.

The PXI-2530 is considered Obsolete by the manufacturer National Instruments (NI), but the PXI Matrix Switch Module will continue to be available in perpetuity for both purchase and repairs with Apex Waves
